Regulations

ORGANISATION

 

1.          The Historic Rally Car Register will organise the "Daffodil Run"

A Touring Assembly on Sunday 21st  March 2010.

2.         The event will be held under a certificate of exemption issued by the Motor Sports Association Ltd., these Regulations & any written instructions that the organisers may issue for the event. The event has no competitive element and does not require an MSA Event Permit. A Competition License is not required.

ELIGIBILITY

3.         The event is open to four-wheeled road cars first registered before 1st January 1990.  Interesting later cars may be accepted at the organiser's discretion.

ENTRIES

4.         Entries open on publication of these Regulations, and close on Tuesday 16th March.   All entries must be made on the official entry form and be accompanied by the entry fee of  £70 for two people traveling in the car.  Please add £25 for each additional person.  Each entry will be acknowledged. Please make cheque's payable to HRCR

The entry fee includes one Roadbook, one rigid Rally Plate, Breakfast roll with tea/coffee. Morning Coffee & Biscuits,  evening meal at the finish with a finisher's award.  

5.         The maximum number of cars on the event is 20. The minimum is 15. Should the above minimum figure not be reached, the organiser's reserve the right to cancel the event and entry fees will be refunded in full.  If an entrant particularly wants to run close to a friend/colleague, then this should be noted in the appropriate space on the entry form.

ROUTE

6.        The Start venue will be the Gavellers Cafe in the Beechenhurst Lodge car park near Speech House Hotel in the Royal Forest of Dean

The Finish with be at the Westons Cider Mill, Much Marcle. Map Ref:149/649330.

The first car will leave at 11.00am.  The route will cover approximately 75 miles in Gloucestershire, and South Herefordshire.

7.         The route will be given in an easy to follow Road Book, which will be issued to entrants at the start of the event.  Although not required to complete the route, entrants may like to follow their progress on Ordnance Survey 'Landranger' maps 162, 150 & 149.

8.        Along the route, there will be Check Points to observe the entrant's adherence to the defined route.  At each point the entrant's Route Check Card will be signed.  These Check Points will be open for specified periods, giving adequate time to visit them while they are open.

TIMETABLE

9.        The timetable for the event will be as follows:

             16th March Entries close.                                 16th March Final Instructions posted

            21st March 10.00 Signing on/Scrutineering.           11.00 First car starts

            12.00 First car arrives at the Coffee Halt. 15.00    First car arrives at the Finish

DOCUMENTATION

10.        Cars/Entrants must arrive at the start not later than 10 oclock.

            The following plus vehicle being used documents must be available for inspection:

            Driving License for the driver.                               V5C Registration Document

            Current vehicle MOT Certificate.                        Current road fund license

All entrants must ensure that they have adequate insurance to enter the event, they will be required to sign a declaration to this effect at documentation.

11.        A basic vehicle Scrutineering/Eligibility check will be carried out at the start.  Any vehicle, which, in the opinion of the organisers, is deemed inappropriate or unsafe, will not be allowed to start. Cars must not display any advertising or carry any competition numbers on the doors.   

12.        After documentation, entrants will be given their Rally Plate, Road Book, and Route Check Card.  They will also receive their Coffee & meal vouchers.

FINISHERS

14.        Finisher's Awards will be presented to all crews who successfully complete the full route within the specified time, and show a completed Route Card with all appropriate stamps or signatures.

ACCOMMODATION

15.        A list of Tourist Board approved accommodation in the area, which can be sent out with the acknowledgement of entry if the entrant requires.  Alternatively, the Tourist Information Centres at Ross-on-Wye and Coleford can be contacted direct for full accommodation lists and they can even book accommodation for you.  They can be contacted on Ross (01989)  562768  and  Coleford (01594)  812388.

ADDITIONALLY

16.        Any protest is not deemed to be within the spirit of the event, and will not be considered, unless accompanied by an offer of a round of drinks for the organisers.

17.        Participants will be identified by a rally plate, which will be supplied by the organisers.  This must be displayed in prominent forward facing flat position on the front of the vehicle. 

18.        All marshals are deemed to be judges of fact.
