Permitted modifications supported by documented evidence.

Engine.

850, 970, 998, 1071, 1098, 1275.

Due to the shortage of Mini Cooper ´S´ blocks, the Solid tappet chest 1275GT block (Not "A" Plus) will be allowed

12G940 casting 1275cc cylinder heads. Arden or Weslake 8 port cylinder heads.

Electronic ignition.

Luminition Optronic replacement system.

Carburation.

Single Weber or Delorto. Split Weber configuration allowed. Twin 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 S U´s (Not later H I F type) Amals or twin forty DCOE carburetors on 8 ports.

Gearbox.

Three or Four syncromesh. Limited slip differential. Straight cut drop gears.  (NOT Dog Engagement)

 

Electrics.
The starter motor must be of the inertia type. NOT pre engaged. The period modification was to fit a 10 tooth pinion as opposed to the 9, this gave a greater turn speed of the engine.

Brakes.

Front.
Minifin brake drums. Solid 7.5 or 8.4 inch brake disc.
Rear: Cast Iron or Minifin brake drums.

Tandem master cylinder. Adjustable brake pedal box. As long as it cannot be adjusted by driver or navigator when normally seated. The KAD adjustable pedal box assembly is acceptable.
The later Rover Mini assembly which incorporates an in line servo is also allowed

Suspension.

The original 2 bolt/stud tower subframe may be replaced by the later single large bolt type
Front.
Adjustable Hi Lo´s. Solid negative camber bottom arms (Not rose joints). Adjustable tie bars. (Not rose joints)
Rear. Beam axle with coil over shock absorbers. Adjustable Hi Lo´s. Non adjustable camber brackets. Rear anti/roll bar.

Wheels and Tyres.

Ten or Twelve inch wheels with 70 profile tyres can be used.

General.

Fibre glass bonnet or boot lid. Perspex side windows.

Wind up one piece  front side windows may be replaced with two piece slider windows. (As mark one Mini)

Alloy centrally mounted replacement petrol tank.

Front and rear bumpers must be fitted.
